TiG welcomes new team members
Team TiG expands despite challenging year
It has been a busy year for TiG Data Intelligence. The acquisition of MMR IT early in the year meant we welcomed 39 new team members, and it hasn’t stopped there. Despite the circumstances that surrounded us during 2020 we’re proud that we were able to extend our team further by welcoming 21 new recruits.
New team members have spanned every department of the business, from Accounts to Infrastructure and everything in between. For some, joining in 2020 has meant that they have completed their entire induction virtually – meeting their colleagues and clients through Microsoft Teams.
We caught up with some of our new team members to ask how they’ve found the experience so far, here’s what they had to say.
After starting my new position at MMR IT just one day before the first national lockdown I was grateful that there was amazing support to get up and running. Not only was there the lockdown bit also the acquisition of MMR IT by TiG. After going through a bad previous migration of companies I wasn’t looking forward to this at all. Hats off to all those at MMR and TiG that have done an amazing job to support everyone and make it a smooth, fair and quick transition considering the current times. It’s great to know that vacancies have been filled even when the economy is not in a great place for recruitment. Thank you and well done all.

Joining the TiG family has been such a wonderful experience. Starting at a new company can be daunting, but joining during a global pandemic (when 6 months pregnant) makes it even more so, but the whole team have been so friendly and inclusive, making it easy to feel right at home. TiG has held various events during lockdown to keep spirits up, and have understood the need to increase communication and contact between team members to look out for each other. TiG has even arranged for a mental health organisation to provide training on how to proactively take care of ourselves and increase our wellbeing, which has been very useful, especially as we come into the winter months. Best decision I ever made joining TiG!

I am very grateful for the opportunity TiG has given me. I am working with a great team, who have been very welcoming during this difficult year. The environment is growing which has allowed me to expand my role, given me a great exposure to cloud, allowing me to continue to extend my experience and give me a bright career ahead

Senior Infrastructure Engineer

I feel I am one of the lucky ones to be employment at the minute, let alone work for such a great company. Everyone has been so welcoming and helpful, even though starting a new job working from home throws up some challenges! Also the little things that make a big difference, i.e. The flask & Popcorn being sent to my home from the company. It all makes you feel like you’re not just a number.

Having joined TiG in September, I have found it to be a very pleasurable experience so far. A well organised business with great vision and aspirations for the future. The staff members have been very welcoming and easy going. Looking forward to the challenges ahead.

I have really enjoyed re-joining TiG during this pandemic as even though I haven’t met a lot of the team, I have still managed to work with or alongside them.

I started at TiG in October 2020, having worked with them previously as a client. My first impressions were how great the team are, its been a lovely experience joining TiG. Everyone is willing to help each other out, working in the same direction, with the end goal of making the client experience better. For me personally, it has been great to be given free rein to approach things from a different angle, and be encouraged to make suggestions to ways of working.

Service Delivery Manager

I started at TiG two weeks before the first lockdown, to say I was little nervous through all the uncertainty is definitely an understatement but the infrastructure team made me feel at home straight away and started to collaborate in some really interesting projects pretty instantly. Working with the team and getting used to the friendly work ethic and banter, I knew I made the right choice.

I’m a very new addition to the company but I am really enjoying the challenge so far. Everyone has been incredibly friendly and welcoming. In finance we have setup a virtual 9am coffee morning so we can come together as a team and help breakdown the barriers from working remotely. Looking forward to meeting everyone in person – and being in the new fabulous offices!

I joined TiG 6 weeks before the lockdown, so I had a chance to meet with the team for a short time before moving to working from home. I was still able to work with different teams and colleagues virtually. Its a great place to work, mainly due to working with a good team and management.

Senior Support Engineer
After a year of working together virtually, we’re looking forward to meeting our new team members in 3D as soon as circumstances allow!
The support our team receives goes well beyond their first months on the job – all TiG employees are supported to continue training and pursue their career goals. Here’s a message sent to CEO Des Lekerman recently – ‘I am so glad and very proud that I work for TiG… it’s the best company with best top dogs in all the companies I have worked for. A company that employs people that can be approached no matter their position and they listen! Thanks for having me as a staff member man! I feel like part of a team rather than a number man’ – Kiran Varsani, Senior Support Engineer.
